Ten UK AI automation websites, read in full
We read every page on ten competitor websites before writing a word of our own site. These are counts, not opinions, and every one of them is checkable.

Nine of ten sites in this market publish a specific price. Nine of ten make booking a call the button they want you to press.
And two of ten publish a case study with a number that looks exactly like a real one, alongside a line in small print saying it isn’t.
We read all ten in full before writing anything for this site, and kept a record of what we found rather than what we assumed we’d find.
We are one of the firms in this market, so read what follows as interested rather than neutral. It’s still checkable: every site is public, and the counts below are out of ten.
9 of 10
publish a specific price
Not publishing is the unusual choice here. We go further than a starting-from figure: a fixed price, quoted in writing before anything starts.9 of 10
make booking a call the main button
Which means the tenth site stands out for free.8 of 10
give away a free audit
The single most crowded offer in the category. The word has stopped meaning anything.8 of 10
name a founder and show a face
The one site that doesn't is visibly weaker for it.7 of 10
run a blog
Most are stale. One has three posts, and the newest is titled with the wrong year.6 of 10
publish pages for specific sectors
The fullest set runs to nine. A sector page earns its place when it says something the homepage does not.5 of 10
publish pages for specific locations
One runs twelve borough pages for a single city.5 of 10
run an AI chat widget
This has replaced the popup as the standard interruption. A generic one is now a negative signal, not a neutral one.3 of 10
publish a self-ranking 'best UK agencies' list
Including themselves, in their own ranking.2 of 10
have a real case study with a named client and a hard number
What's actually scarce in this market.2 of 10
publish 'illustrative' case studies with real-looking figures
A specific number up top, the disclaimer in small print underneath.1 of 10
let a stranger use the actual product with no signup
The single most valuable thing anyone in this set does.1 of 10
publish their own original research
Which is the reason this page exists.0 of 10
use a gated PDF or an exit popup
Worth stating plainly: the category has already dropped both. Don't bring them back.
What changed on this site because of it
The rule that fell out of this reading: a claim most of the set makes is a reason to differ, not a reason to conform. The two sites we rated weakest were the two that were interchangeable with any other firm in the market.
What we copied without changing
A named founder with a real photograph. Eight of ten sites put a name and a face to whoever runs things, and differing on that costs a visitor's trust for no reason, so it stayed exactly as it was.
What we copied on purpose
One of the ten has no client it can name and says so, rather than dress a guess up as a case study. We took the principle: no invented case studies, and no client result here until it is real and cleared to publish.
What we're not doing
Leading with a free audit. A self-ranking 'best UK agency' list. A blog that goes quiet after the third post. And 'practical, no hype, no jargon', which seven of the ten sites use in close to those words, so it tells a visitor nothing.
What we built instead
Free tools a stranger can run with no signup, no email and nothing saved, and the arithmetic behind the calculator published line by line. One of the ten sites offers the first.
What this does not prove
Ten sites is what we read, not the whole market, and a website’s front door isn’t the same thing as the work behind it.
A firm could publish exactly the right things and still do mediocre work, or publish a mess and still do well by the two clients who found it through someone they trust.
This page counts what gets published. It doesn’t measure the work underneath, on any site.
